Hfter: ‘DAASH’ and other militant groups receiving support from extremists in 5 countries

According to General Hftar, ‘DAASH’ and other militant groups have been getting support from groups in Tunisia, Algeria, Chad, Nigeria and Sudan.

This came in a statement to reporters after meeting with senior military commanders on Tuesday evening in the town of CASABLANCA (traditional name: ‘al-Marj’).

Asked when the Benghazi battle would be finished, the commander Khalifa Hftar, said: “I cannot give a date but it will be very soon.”

He added that “The Libyan Army has constitutional legitimacy and draws support from the Libyan people to fight terrorism”, stressing that “illegitimate armed militias are outside of the law and are not our equal in any way”.

The General ended the statement saying, “There is no place for militias within the Libyan Army, there will be no dialogue or negotiations with terrorists”.
