Since then, the US had blindly supported the UK in almost all political and economic efforts, despite the fact that Saudi Arabia is an ultra-conservative Islamic monarchy with widespread and repeated violations of human rights.

When the Houthis, an “Anasar-Allah” oriented ‘rebel’ group from northern Yemen, took the Yemeni capital Sanaa in January 2015 and the puppet-Sunni president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi on his own accord, resigned, to be in exile; But then formed in Saudi Arabia a coalition among the Arab Gulf states to fight the Houthi. Of course, the US has agreed to support these close allies in its efforts to “restore order” in Yemen by providing intelligence information, weapons and refueling of aircraft in the air. The US also sent US warships to enforce a blockade in the Gulf of Aden and the southern Arabian Sea. VIDEO: Yemeni Army Troops Kill Saudi Arabia Mercenaries in Ta’izz

The regime in Riyadh began the campaign against Yemen on March 26, 2015. The airstrikes were meant to undermine Houthi.

Also on Sunday, Saudi warplanes bombarded a number of areas in the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, including the al-Sabaha district.

Saudi jets also targeted the districts of Haymah al-Kharijiyah and Hamdan in Sana’a. Local sources said the warplanes launched six airstrikes on Haymah al-Kharijiyah and two on Hamdan.

More than 7,500 people have been killed and over 14,000 injured since the Saudi airstrikes began in late March; Press TV reported.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) have secretly sent some 300 Colombians to fight in Yemen as mercenaries, reported Saturday the French news agency AFP.

According to sources consulted by AFP, who asked to remain anonymous, the UAE government spends generously to recruit a private army composed of well-trained South American battle-hardened soldiers.

“Colombian soldiers are highly prized for their training in the fight against the guerrillas (…) The Colombians have many years of experience in the war,” he told AFP exoficial Army of Colombia.

According to this news agency, the experience of these mercenaries in the battle against guerrillas and drug traffickers makes them attractive to the UAE, which has no experience forces, while allied with Saudi Arabia in the military campaign against Yemen.

Ireland has followed the UK in advising holidaymakers to leave Tunisia in the wake of the beach terror attack.

Thousands of UK holidaymakers and staff are being evacuated from the country after the Government urged them to leave immediately because of fears of another terror attack.

The Foreign Office’s warning against all but essential travel follows intelligence that an attack is “highly likely” after last month’s beach shootings, which killed 38 tourists, including 30 Britons and three Irish nationals.

Ireland’s Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan said “relatively few” Irish tourists are believed to still be in Tunisia, and added those still in the country will be told about the updated travel advice.

He said: “We are now encouraging any Irish visitors to Tunisia to review whether their presence in Tunisia is essential and, where it is not, we are advising them to leave by commercial means.”

The French foreign ministry has said it is not planning to follow Britain and Ireland’s lead in urging tourists to leave.

Thomas Cook has said it is cancelling all future bookings to the country until 31 October because of the beach attack.

And it is bringing all its customers in the country back to the UK as soon as possible using “third party carriers and on our 10 scheduled flights over the weekend”.

Thomas Cook “strongly advises” people to return on these flights.

Thomson and First Choice – the companies all the Britons killed in the Sousse massacre were travelling with – have cancelled all of their outbound flights to Tunisia for the summer season, which is up to 31 October.

Thomson and First Choice said: “Customers due to travel to Tunisia up to and including 31 October will be given the opportunity to amend their holiday free of charge to any of our destinations currently on sale, or receive a full refund.”

The Association of British Travel Agents said: “Holidaymakers should be aware that travelling out to Tunisia at this time is likely to invalidate travel insurance policies.

“Most insurance policies will still provide cover for travellers in a country at the time of Foreign Office advice change.

“Those with holidays booked within the next 48 hours to Tunisia are advised to contact their travel company to discuss available options.

The Foreign Office said British authorities have been working closely with their Tunisian counterparts over the attack and although extra security measures have been put in place “the intelligence and threat picture has developed considerably”.

And it deemed the measures were not adequate enough to protect British tourists.

Tunisia’s ambassador in London said on Thursday Britain was playing into the hands of the terrorists by telling tourists to return home.

“This is what the terrorists want,” Nabil Ammar, Tunisian ambassador to the UK, told BBC Two’s Newsnight.

Tunisia’s Prime Minister Habib Essid has said he will call David Cameron about the situation.

“Britain is free to take whatever decision it likes, it’s a sovereign country, but we too are a sovereign country and we have a position to take,” he told parliament, warning that Britain’s decision would “have repercussions”.

Mr Cameron’s official spokesperson stressed the Foreign Office’s decision was not one that was made lightly, and the first priority was making sure British nationals are safe.

Security forces in the country remain on high alert after the attacks, and on Friday they killed five Islamist militants in clashes in the mountains near the central town of Gafsa.

A car bomb exploded early Saturday outside the Italian Consulate in Cairo, destroying several floors of the historic building in a powerful blast that killed one Egyptian, the latest casualty in an ongoing Islamic militant campaign targeting the country’s security forces.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the blast, though Egypt faces threats from insurgent factions including an Islamic State affiliate in its restive Sinai Peninsula that the military says killed at least 17 soldiers in a recent assault there. Security service officials who spoke to The Associated Press said that attack killed dozens more.

The Italian Consulate bombing struck at around 6:30 a.m. (0430 GMT, 12:30 a.m. EDT), exploding in a side street in downtown Cairo near the building’s back entrance and a busy highway overpass. Italian authorities said the consulate was closed at the time and none of its workers were wounded.

The blast killed a passer-by and wounded eight, only one of whom is still in the hospital, the Interior Ministry said in a statement. Egyptian Heath Ministry official Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar told the AP that the man killed had some of his limbs blown off.

Italian Premier Matteo Renzi spoke with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi after the attack, saying in a statement: “We will not leave Egypt alone: Italy and Egypt are and will always be together in the fight against terrorism.”

Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said that Italy would increase security at Italian sites in Cairo and greater Egypt.

“This is not a challenge that the West will win by itself,” he said. “It is a challenge that we will win together with the large majority of the Islamic community and of the Arab governments.”

An Egyptian security official said investigators were reviewing closed-circuit video recordings from the area, noting that one vehicle that disintegrated in the explosion had license plates from the canal city of Suez. He spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to brief journalists.

The blast heavily damaged the distinctive early 20th century building that once housed a school and became the Italian Consulate after World War II. Charred car parts littered the street, which flooded in some areas from ruptured water pipes. Several floors of the consulate were destroyed on one side, leaving a gaping hole.

“I was sleeping when the explosion went off; it blew in my window and when I went outside the air was full of dust,” said Ahmed Hasan, 20, a neighbor whose leg suffered minor cuts from flying glass.

Civilians gathered around the area of the explosion, as police cordoned off the streets leading to the consulate. Several foreign journalists were briefly detained on the scene by police but later released. Interior Minister Magdy Abd El-Ghaffar later inspected the blast site.

The consulate sits on one of the busiest intersections in downtown Cairo, along a major artery that connects Ramsis Square to the heart of the capital. The surrounding area includes a large hospital, a major police station surrounded by blast walls, a central ambulance dispatching station and the state-owned flagship newspaper al-Ahram.

The blast comes less than two weeks after the country’s chief prosecutor was killed in an explosion near his home in Cairo as he was heading to work.
