A truck bomb exploded Thursday at a security training camp in the western Libyan city of Zliten, killing dozens of people and injuring more than 100 others.

The U.N. special representative to Libya, Martin Kobler, described the bombing as a suicide attack.

It’s one of the deadliest attacks in Libya. Local and international news reports on the death toll varied, with some saying at least 47 people were killed and others putting the number at 65.

“Hours after the blast, rescue crews at the scene had only managed to extract 60 bodies out of the wreckage, said a hospital spokesman, Moamar Kaddi. Libyan officials said they believed there might be dozens more dead,” The Associated Press says.

Two nearby hospitals put out urgent requests for blood donations, Libya’s LANA news wire reports.

‘DAASH’ immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing, though AP says that “a local Islamic State affiliate has been trying to gain a foothold in Zliten, spreading westward from its central stronghold of Sirte along the North African country’s coast.”

NPR’s Leila Fadel reports that the explosion occurred amid intensified fighting at two oil terminals hundreds of miles to the east, “as the Islamic State extremist group tries to take control of the area. At least seven oil tanks have been set on fire in the fighting.”

Several sources from within the city of Derna, Libya confirmed that DAASH /ISIS in a surprise move decided to pack up and completely escape from their stronghold coastal city of Derna on the Mediterranean seacoast.

Reason?

Italy declared that warships will be sent for exercises in the Libyan shores to intimidate DAASH / ISIS after the latter announced in its branch in Sirte for the execution of five Libyans charged of dealing with the enemies of the Islamic State.

The Arab Emirates news media, al-Khaleej, had the story titled “Italian Naval Maneuvers From Italy To Tripoli (Libya) And DAASH /ISIS Flees From Derna“.

Italian military sources said that several Italian Navy ships were already deployed yesterday towards Libya claiming  to conduct naval exercises on the territorial waters of the shores of Tripoli borders. But a spokesman from the Ministry of Defense stated that the maneuvers aimed at terrifying DAASH / ISIS.

The call by ISIS / DAASH to evacuate completely from Derna, which surprised most people ordered all fighters to get out quickly which started at midnight on Friday through Saturday in which ISIS / DAASH fled to the nearby mountain at Ras al-Hilal area.

“Most camps, government buildings occupied by groups loyal to DAASH /ISIS are free of militants” one local stated adding “We were surprised by this escape which had no obvious reasons so far and even our contact with leaders of the army did not confirm any progress or any movement by the army towards the city.”

Initially, one Libyan military leader guessed that the sudden move might be repositioning themselves in mountainous areas that provide a natural cover from fighter jets.

Yet, several sources from within the city of Derna, Libya confirmed that DAASH / ISIS escaped from the city, at a time when Italy declared that the Italian warships were coming.

The Italian media are saying that Italy is sending ships from its Navy towards the Libyan shores and it seems that Italy may be preparing for a direct action in Libya.

The soldiers of the Reggimento San Marco arrived in La Spezia in the middle of the night. They crossed the sleeping city and proceeded next to the Arsenal until they arrived at a military base where they found everything prepared for action.

Yesterday too saw the arrival in La Spezia of the Nave San Giorgio, which had never been there before and which is prepared for an amphibian action.

The ship was kept rather hidden and today, after lunchtime, having taken in soldiers and equipment, it sailed.

It would seem the ship’s next stop is Augusta in Sicily where it will take on reinforcements.

It would seem, from speculation in the Italian media, that the intended action will take place near Misurata where there is the Libyan end of the ENI oil pipeline which till today has been defended by an Islamic militia which it seems can no longer do so.

Some Italian media are saying the Italian troopers will land near Misurata to defend the oil pipeline instead of the Libyan Islamic militia.

Italian foreign minister Paolo Gentiloni said Friday, “Italy is ready to do its part in Libya,” but only once the United Nations (UN) has taken the initiative.

Briefing the lower house of the parliament, Gentiloni said the government was waiting for an international effort in the war-torn North African nation before acting. “Right now, the game is international,” he said in comments on Middle East and global issues.

Talking about anti-terrorism in Libya, Gentiloni said: “Italy will do everything to defend its security, counteracting this barbarism.”

Italy, along with the rest of Europe, has worried about gains made in Libya by armed terrorists who may use the North African country as a springboard for attacks in Europe.

On Thursday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Gentiloni and Italy’s defense minister Roberta Pinotti in Rome, to talk about the issues in Libya and Ukraine. During his meeting with Stoltenberg, Gentiloni said, “Libya must be a focus of NATO,” describing the stability of the North African country as “strategic” for Italy.

The locals expressed that the feelings of the people of the city after DAASH /ISIS’s departure was met with “great satisfaction at the lack of black flags and armed convoys,” since DAASH /ISIS dominated their region, which forced them to “pay taxes and change their patterns of behavior to follow a strict code of Islam.”

It is also noteworthy to mention that Egypt entered officially – and in real terms – the war on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (DAASH / ISIS) through the Libyan gateway this week, after Jordan stepped up its military operations against DAASH / ISIS last week through the Syrian path. Iraq has pledged to crush DAASH/ ISIS on its territory, which has seen intensive airstrikes conducted by the U.S.-led international coalition.

From this we know that Josephus saw Chittim with a twofold significance, in that while it is Cyprus it comprises also mainland Greece and Italy, as we learn from Rawlinson (The Origin of Nations, part 2, ch. 2, pp. 185-186). Moreover, in far antiquity, as we learn from the ancient historian Justin, Italy was called Greater Greece, or Magna Graecia (Justin, 20.2). Therefore, Italy, through an ancient lens, can be viewed as a part of Greece, and therefore constitutes as Chittim.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Israel’s fighter jets have taken part in the Thursday Saudi-led airstrikes on Yemen, sources in Sanaa disclosed on Friday.

“This is for the first time that the Zionists are conducting a joint operation in coalition with Arabs,“ Secretary General of Yemen‘s Al-Haq Political Party Hassan Zayd wrote on his facebook page.

He noted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had issued direct orders for the Israeli air force to send fighter jets to the Saudi-led air raid on Yemen.

Saudi Arabia launched airstrikes against Yemen and killed, at least, 25 civilians early Thursday, one day after the US-backed Yemeni president fled the country.

Also, 15 more people were killed and injured in a second round of massive attacks by the Saudi Arabian fighter jets in the Northwestern Yemeni city of Sa’ada on Friday.

Yemen’s al-Massira TV reported that the Saudi air force targeted the Yemeni’s civilians who were shopping in a market.

Five Persian Gulf States — Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait — backed by the US have declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued earlier Thursday.

US President Barack Obama authorized the provision of logistical and intelligence support to the military operations, National Security Council Spokesperson Bernadette Meehan said late Wednesday night.

She added that while US forces were not taking direct military action in Yemen, Washington was establishing a Joint Planning Cell with Saudi Arabia to coordinate US military and intelligence support.

Riyadh claimed that it has bombed the positions of the Ansarullah fighters and launched attacks against the Sana’a airport and the Dulaimi airbase.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is attacking Ansarullah positions, Saudi warplanes have flattened a number of homes near Sana’a international airport. Based on early reports, the Saudi airstrikes on Yemen have so far claimed the lives of 25 civilians with more deaths feared, Yemeni sources said.

The Saudi aggression has received growing international condemnation as it is pushing the region and the world into an unprecedented fast-growing war as its ISIL mercenaries are on the brink of complete annihilation in Iraq and Syria.

US giving intel to Saudis about Yemen
The United States is playing a “direct” role in Saudi Arabia’s war against Yemen by providing “intelligence” to the Saudi military, says an analyst. Early on Thursday, warplanes of the Royal Saudi Air Force bombed the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, who have acquired power there, and launched attacks against the Sana’a airport and the Dulaimi airbase.

“Americans need to remind the US National Security Council that providing targeting intelligence and logistical support to a belligerent bombing campaign being carried out by a US client-state in another sovereign nation using US supplied hardware, is in fact direct participation in that military conflict,” Barry Grossman, an international lawyer, told Press TV on Friday.

 

The Saudi airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in Yemen have so far claimed the lives of almost 40 civilians, health officials say. Grossman said “the simple fact is that when this belligerent military intervention started a couple of days ago, the Houthi were already back in power after ruling the territory which is modern Yemen for thousands of years until the KSA and its US backers intervened in regional politics in the 1960s.

If the Houthi are now to be removed again, then according to the governing principles of international law, it is up to Yemenis to remove them.” Grossman also said that the Saudi campaign is some-what aimed at derailing the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 over Tehran’s nuclear program.

“The timing of this intervention seems to me no accident,” he said, adding “clearly, the assault on Yemen is just another concerted effort by the KSA, Israel and rogue US elements to derail nuclear talks with Iran”. A fresh round of talks about Tehran’s nuclear program began in Lausanne, Switzerland on Thursday with a meeting between the Iranian foreign minister and US secretary of state, John Kerry. Iran and the six global powers – the US, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany — have been in talks to resolve outstanding issues surrounding Tehran’s nuclear activities to pave the way for striking an overarching deal on the country’s peaceful ‘nuclear program’ as a deadline slated for 01 July 2015  draws closer.

He further slams the Saudi war on Yemen, saying that the aerial assault violates all norms under international law.

U.S. is instigator against illegal war against Houthi in Yemen

Saudi Arabia has launched a proxy war in Yemen on behalf of the United States to install a Western puppet regime in the country, says a former American intelligence linguist in Florida.

A Houthi supporter looks a shells of missiles left from the last war in Sa’ada, 27 March 2014. The Yemeni government, accompanied by the Saudis, adopted a scorched earth policy, flattening entire areas. Missiles bearing the name of the United States armed forces still lay on the mountain slopes.

In September 2014, the Houthi Ansarullah movement gained control of Sana’a, Yemen’s capital, following a four-day battle with army forces loyal to General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, the half-brother of the country’s former dictator, Ali Abdullah Saleh.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia unleashed deadly air raids against Yemen in an attempt to restore power to fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

“Washington is once again trying to manipulate the government of Yemen using a proxy war now from Saudi Arabia, their direct partner and the largest recipient of military weaponry in the region,” Scott Rickard told Press TV on Saturday.

Rickard was referring to remarks by former US congressman Ron Paul who said Thursday that the Saudi-led airstrikes with the help of the Obama administration will result in higher oil prices.

“It looks as though this war is going to escalate now that the Houthis have been successful in overthrowing the West puppet government in Sana’a,” Rickard said.

“Certainly, the price of oil will continue to rise, the oil prices, traditionally they rise during war time, in order to cover expenses for the war as well as to increase the amount of competition in the region for the actual resources,” he explained, noting “everyone will profit from this war with the increase in oil prices”.

He also said these types of proxy wars by the West have happened elsewhere in the region. “You have the same issues obviously in Iraq, in Syria and in Libya that have just destroyed those countries as well.”

Washington said it is supporting the Saudi military action against Yemen and it is providing logistical and intelligence support to Saudi airstrikes.

Saudi-led warplanes continue carrying out airstrikes against Yemen as the war on the impoverished country enters its fourth day.

Dozens of people, including women and children, have been killed since early Thursday, when Saudi Arabia began the invasion of Yemen.

If the idea of drinking camel milk seems strange to you, how about camel milk as medicine? Scientists have found that a component of camel milk may play a significant role in colon cancer, a disease that is diagnosed in more than 102,000 people per year in the United States alone.

What’s special about camel milk?

Camels may not be plentiful in the United States (there are about 3,000, according to the American Camel Coalition), but in many parts of Africa and the Middle East, they are a common sight. Although they are a mode of transportation, camels also are a source of nutritious milk and, in recent years, that milk has been the subject of research for medicinal purposes.

One such use came to light in a new study in which researchers found that a component of camel milk, called lactoferrin, may stop the growth of colon cancer cells. Lactoferrin has antioxidant properties and also binds with iron, which could prevent DNA damage associated with cancer development.

CAMEL’S MILK

PROS: 

Camel’s milk is lower in fat and cholesterol than cow’s milk, but contains five times as much vitamin C. Studies in India show it contains high levels of insulin and is helpful to people with type 2 diabetes. In India, it is used to treat a range of illnesses. Although it contains lactose, it has lower amounts than cow’s milk. As yet unavailable in Britain, but Harrods is said to be interested in stocking it.

CONS: 

Rather watery and salty — an acquired taste.

Most people may not have been too familiar with camel milk. But it turns out this milk has many benefits for the body and have a better nutrient content that is known as a ‘superfood’.
Camel milk has been widely consumed in almost all Arab countries, this milk tastes slightly saltier than other milk and is often produced as cheese.

UN organizations dealing with food (Food and Agriculture Organisation / FAO) said that camel milk is rich in vitamin B note, C and iron content 10 times faster than that of cow’s milk.
In addition to mineral and vitamin contents are high, research has shown that antibodies contained in the alleged camel milk could help fight cancer, HIV, AIDS, Alzheimer’s and hepatitis C.

“Camel milk could be a useful addition to food because it contains calcium and vitamin B and has a saturated fat content less than cow’s milk,” said a spokesman from the British Nutrition Foundation.
Another advantage of camel milk is not contain two powerful allergens that have been found in cow’s milk, and has a component of the immune system that may provide benefits to children who are allergic to milk and other foods.

Potential components of the immune system in camel milk is expected to help fight some diseases. The researchers speculate that the small size of immunoglobulin or antibodies found in camel milk is more easily allow it to target the disease-causing foreign substances (antigens) that damage a person’s immune system.

Dr. Reuven Yagil, an expert on the physiology of Israel who conducted the study for 5 years said that camel milk can be overcome autoimmune disorders that suppress the immune system of a person.
But it still needed further research, because scientific evidence that there has not been enough to prove the effectiveness of camel milk in the treatment of autoimmune diseases.

Until recently, it was a felony to sell camel milk in the U.S. In April 2009, Dr. Hinkle introduced a proposal to the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Committee on Interstate Milk Shipments in Orlando, Florida. The proposal was to change the law to allow the “camelids” to be included in the dairy laws governing the sale of milk. Dr. Hinkle gave an impassioned speech before the committee:

“How would you feel if your loved one was afflicted with diabetes and was very ill from the drugs prescribed for the diabetes? (A high amount of individuals react negatively to the diabetic medication.) How would you feel seeing a loved one lose an arm or a leg and eventually their life to diabetes when just a small amount of camel milk could supply all the insulin they might need daily? (There are 52 units of insulin per liter of camel milk.)

“What a joy it would be to see your autistic child act normally with just a little camel milk on a daily basis. The health benefits for diabetes, autism, cancer, and many more illnesses are endless. Please pass this proposal and allow us to begin the long road to getting camel milk here and to finally conducting medically supervised studies here in the U.S.”

The proposal was passed. Dr. Hinkle says that this will now open the door for the testing of camel samples so that it can meet the FDA standards and for camel dairies to be set up here in the U.S.

Investigation into the possible role of camel milk in fighting cancer is new. Among the few previous studies of the anticancer potential of camel milk is a 2012 article appearing in the Journal of Biomedicine & Biotechnology noting that camel milk triggered a process that inhibited proliferation and survival of both human liver and breast cancer cell lines.

What role might the milk from camels have in the fight against cancer? It is still much too early to tell, but researchers will likely continue their quest to uncover the potential of camel milk in colon cancer as well as other forms of the disease.

Research by Habib  et al. in the Food Chemistry journal examined the functional properties of camel milk  lactoferrin the main iron binding protein of the milk

56% decline in cancer growth

The researchers applied camel milk lactoferrin to HCT-116 colon cancer cells and found high concentrations of between 3mg/ml and 5mg/ml demonstrated a 56% decline of growth after 2 days. Lower concentration below 1mg/ml did not inhibit cell growth.

Camel milk is permitted for human consumption in Europe, but only a select few processors meet the safety requirements to export into the EU.

A study published in 2012 by the Journal of Biomedicine and Biotechnology states that camel milk (but not bovine milk) induced cancer cell death in HepG2 and MCF7 and oxidative stress mediated mechanisms. The scientists believe this could explain the anecdotal evidence for the successful use of camel milk in the treatment of various medical conditions. Another study published by BMC Immunology explored camel whey protein on diabetic mice and demonstrated the benefits of improving the healing and closure of diabetic wounds and restoring the immune response.

The Journal of Allergy and Asthma Proceeding published a study in which children who had allergies to cow’s milk were tested for reactions to camel milk. They discovered that 80 percent of children were not allergic to camel’s milk making it a viable alternative to cow’s milk.

Food Chemistry published an article in which phospholipids of human milk, cow’s milk, mare milk and camel milk were compared. Camel milk had the highest content of phospholipids and can be among the considered types of milk for infants and toddlers who need alternatives or fortifiers and suggested it could be used for functional food for adults as well.

Alzheimer’s Study With Camel Milk

Dr. Hinkle has just completed a six-month study with a small group of Alzheimer’s patients and camel milk. Dr. Hinkle worked with nine patients who were all in early stages of Alzheimer’s and the results “were very promising,” states Dr. Hinkle.

Dr. Hinkle used a specific protocol that she developed in combination with the camel milk. “The results were evident within a few weeks,” states Dr. Hinkle. The following positive results were noted in all the patients:

Sleep patterns improved.
Eating habits improved.
Patients became more vocal and interacted with others more and were able to participate in conversations as well as remember conversations from previous days.
There was less confusion, less repetition, less aggression and less mood swings
within the first month.
Patients were able to complete tasks and remain on target until tasks were completed.
Memory recall improved when patients were asked to remember specific dates or events.
Physical activity improved.

“I am very pleased with the results of the study,” states Dr. Hinkle. “But we need to see what the long-term benefits will be with patients and we also need to work with specialists involving a long-term study with more patients so that we may track those patients for several years. We know from recent research completed that camel milk antibodies are able to cross the brain barrier and therefore we can piggyback specific supplements and medications, etc., with each patient to cross the brain barrier in order to work toward improving the symptoms and to hopefully stop the progression of Alzheimer’s,” says Dr. Hinkle.

Lyme Disease Patients Experience Benefits of Camel Milk

Dr. Hinkle has been working with Lyme disease patients for the last three years and the results have been impressive for many of the patients. Patients see joint pain decrease, sleep patterns improve, gut issues improve, rashes disappear and the ability to think clearly improves as “brain fog” lifts. Lyme patients are on antibiotics, which destroy much of the good gut flora, and the camel milk helps in keeping it in balance. Camel milk is known for its antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties. Dr. Hinkle is studying the effects of the milk on the Lyme spirochetes. She utilizes a specific protocol with the milk to increase the opportunity for more favorable results. Dr. Hinkle’s approach works to weaken the spirochetes so that more positive results are experienced by patients as the milk also provides support to the immune system. The results have been amazing.

Hepatitis Patients See Normal Liver Enzyme Panels on Camel Milk

Dr. Hinkle has been very pleased with the results she is seeing with hepatitis patients on the camel milk. She has witnessed case after case of hepatitis patients whose liver enzymes have been normal for the first time in years while on the milk. One 80-year-old patient’s test results were normal after 40 years of elevated liver enzymes after being on the milk for only two weeks. “The story is the same over and over and I am looking forward to working with more hepatitis patients and their doctors to hopefully give them a brighter future for their health.” Dr. Hinkle cautions that each case is different and that more studies need to be completed with larger groups of individuals. She is seeking funding for a long-term study on the effects of the camel milk in treating hepatitis and expects to see the same positive results she has noted so far. “The antiviral properties in the milk seem to dissipate the inflammation of the liver and the milk also provides many of the nutrients needed for healthy liver function,” states Dr. Hinkle.
