In the 19th chapter of the Holy Qu’ran there are 41 verses on Jesus and Mary. There is such a strong defense of the virginity of Mary here that the Holy Qur’an, in the fourth book, attributes the condemnation of the Jews, to their monstrous calumny against the Virgin Mary.

Mary, then, is for the Muslems the true Sayyida, or Lady. The only possible serious rival to her in their creed would be Fatima, the daughter of Mohammed himself. But after the death of Fatima, Mohammed wrote: ‘Thou shalt be the most blessed of women in Paradise, after Mary.’ In a variant of the text Fatima is made to say; ‘I surpass all the women, except Mary.’ “

On the Occasion of Christmas

• Jesus Christ in the Holy Qur’an

Mary had withdrawn into the Temple, where she was visited by the angel Gabriel who brought the glad tidings of a holy son. The Quran states that God sent the message through the angel Gabriel to Mary, that God had honored her among the women of all nations. The angel also told Mary that she would give birth to a pure son, named Isa (Jesus), who would be a great prophet, to whom God would give the Gospel. The angel further told Mary that Jesus would speak in infancy and maturity and be a companion to the most righteous. When this news was given to Mary, she asked the angel how she could conceive and have a child when no man had touched her. The angel replied: 

 ‘Even so: Allah createth what He willeth: When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, ‘Be,’ and it is!” [Holy Qur’an – 3:45-48]

 

Let’s read what is narrated in the Holy Qur’an:

”Behold! The angels said, ‘Oh Mary! God gives you glad tidings of a Word from Him. His name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honor in this world and the Hereafter, and in (the company of) those nearest to God. He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. He shall be (in the company) of the righteous… And God will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel”’ [3:45-48].

The Holy Qur’an, therefore, states that Jesus was created from the act of God’s will. The Quran compares this miraculous creation of Jesus with the creation of Adam, where God created Adam by his act of will (kun-fa-yakun, meaning ”Be and it is.”). According to the Quran, the same answer was given to the question of Zechariah, when he asked how his wife, Elizabeth, could conceive a baby, as she was very old.

The Quran narrates the virgin birth of Jesus numerous times. The Quran states that Mary was overcome by the pains of childbirth. During her agony and helplessness, God provided a stream of water under her feet from which she could drink. Furthermore, near a palm tree, Mary was told to shake the trunk of the palm tree so that ripe dates would fall down and she could eat and be nourished. Mary cried in pain and held onto the palm tree, at which point a voice came from ”beneath her”, understood by some to refer to Jesus, who was yet in her womb, which said, ”Grieve not! Your Lord has provided a water stream under you; And shake the trunk of the palm tree, it will let fall fresh ripe dates upon you. And eat and drink and calm thy mind.” That day, Mary gave birth to her son Jesus in the middle of the desert.

Mary carried baby Jesus back to her people. The Quran goes on to describe that Mary vowed not to speak to anyone that day, as God was to make Jesus, who Muslims believe spoke in the cradle, perform his first miracle. The Quran goes on to narrate that Mary then brought Jesus to the temple, where she was immediately ridiculed by all the temple elders. But Zachariah believed in the virgin birth and supported her. The elders accused Mary of being a loose woman and having touched another man while unmarried. In response, Mary pointed to her son, telling them to talk to him. They were angered at this and thought she was mocking them, by asking them to speak with an infant. It was then that God made the infant Jesus speak from the cradle and he spoke of his prophecy for the first time. He said, which are verses 19:30-35 in the chapter of Mary in the Holy Qur’an:

”He spoke, surely! I am the slave of Allah. He hath given me the scripture and hath appointed me a prophet;
He made me to be blessed wherever I am, and He has charged me with prayer and charity for as long as I shall live.
And (hath made me) dutiful toward her who bore me, and hath not made me arrogant, unblest.
Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!
Such was Jesus, son of Mary; (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt.
It befitteth not (the majesty of) Allah that he should take unto himself a son. Glory be to him! When he decreeth a thing, he saith unto it only: be! And it is.”

According to Islamic texts, Jesus was divinely chosen to preach the message of monotheism and submission to the will of God to the Children of Israel (banī isrā’īl).

”Christ, the son of Mary, was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how God makes His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!” [Quran – 5:75].

”When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: ‘Now I have come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which you dispute. Therefore, fear God and obey me. God, He is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him – this is a Straight Way.’ But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement. So woe to the wrongdoers, from the penalty of a Grievous Day!” [Holy Qur’an – 43:63-65].

Muslims believe that Jesus was a precursor to Muhammad, and that he announced the latter’s coming. They base this on a verse of the Quran wherein Jesus speaks of a messenger to appear after him named Ahmad. Islam associates Ahmad with Muhammad, both words deriving from the h-m-d triconsonantal root which refers to praiseworthiness. Muslims also assert that evidence of Jesus’ pronouncement is present in the New Testament, citing the mention of the Paraclete whose coming is foretold in the Gospel of John. Muslim commentators claim that the original Greek word used was periklutos, meaning famed, illustrious, or praiseworthy – rendered in Arabic as Ahmad; and that this was replaced by Christians with parakletos.

Common ground with Christianity

Isa is the son of a virgin named Maryam (”Mary” in English), who is a role model for the faithful women. Isa is a prophet filled with the Holy Spirit [Quran – 2:87] and the Messiah in both religions (but the Christians add that besides having a human nature, he would be God too, which the Quran clearly denies). Isa is the ”word of truth” [Quran – 19:34]. Isa, through God’s power and will, cures the blind and the leper, raises the dead to life and know what is hidden in the hearts [Quran – 3:49]. And Isa will come back at the end of times.

According to Islam, Jesus never died on the cross, nor ever wanted to die on the cross, nor ever was born to die on the cross.  Muslims believe that Jesus was sentenced to death, and people thought that he got executed on the cross. The Holy Quran rejects this idea, and claims that it is a false one.  Jesus never died on the cross,

nor he ever died for anyone’s sins. Let us look at what the Holy Qur’an says about this issue:

”That they rejected Faith; that they uttered against Mary: A grave false charge;

That they said (in boast): ‘We killed Christ Jesus, The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah.’ But they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjunction to follow, for of a surety they killed him not.

Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise.
And there is none of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (Jesus) before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness against them.” [Holy Qur’an – 4:156-159]

The Yemeni Army kills a Saudi prince in Marib

The Yemeni army, backed by fighters of the popular movement ‘Ansar-Allah’, has killed a Saudi prince, during clashes in the province of Marib, in central Yemen.

Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Mosaed bin Jalawi Al Saud, deputy general inspector of the Wahhabi regime, was killed Thursday in an attack by Yemeni forces in the province of Marib, reported Friday the Yemeni news website Saada.

In the attack, Yemeni forces destroyed a member of the Saudi Army armored car and took the lives of several soldiers of the al-Saud regime in the town of al-Mayzar in Marib, the source added.

This adds that Yemeni troops have captured in operations in the northern al-Jawf province, about 48 soldiers of the Army of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including nine officers.

Traces of plankton and other microorganisms have been found living on the exterior of the International Space Station (ISS), according to Russian space officials.

They claim the plankton were not carried there at launch.

Incredibly, the tiny organisms were found to be able to survive in the vacuum of space despite the freezing temperatures, lack of oxygen and cosmic radiation.

The discovery was made during a routine spacewalk by Russian cosmonauts Olek Artemyev and Alexander Skvortsov, who were launching nanosatellites into space.

They used wipes to polish the surface of windows – also known as illuminators – on the Russian segment of the ISS and later found the presence of plankton and other microorganisms using ‘high-precision equipment’.

‘The results of the experiment are absolutely unique,’ said the head of the Russian ISS orbital mission Vladimir Solovyev.

‘We have found traces of sea plankton and microscopic particles on the illuminator surface. This should be studied further.’

The plankton are not known to be indigenous to Baikonur, Kazakhstan, where the Russian modules of the station blasted off from.

“But emotionally, we the Arabs, and all of the Muslims, are attached to ‘Ali. This means that all of the Arabs are Shi’ites. If a Shi’ite is one who is attached to ‘Ali, then all of the Arabs are Shi’ites. Where is the Arab who is against ‘Ali? There aren’t any.

“Take a poll in the entire Islamic and Arab world. Ask them: ‘Are you for Mu’awiya or for ‘Ali?’ They will tell you ”Ali’. Ask them: ‘Are you for Fatima Al-Zahra or someone else – the wife of Mu’awiya, Yazid, or someone else?’ They will say: ‘No, I am for Fatima Al-Zahra.’

“This means that they are the party [tashayyu’ l-] of the Prophet’s family, of Fatima and ‘Ali. All of the Arabs, all of the Muslims, are the party of ‘Ali. If being the party of ‘Ali means being Shi’ite, then we are all Shi’ites. This is true. This is our culture.”

“If Being Sunni Means That You Believe in Muhammad and His Sunna. Then the Iranians are Sunnis. Did the Iranians say to you: ‘We are against Muhammad’? No, they say: ‘Muhammad, peace be upon him, is our Prophet.’ [And if you ask them:] ‘Do you follow his sunna?’ they will say: ‘Of course, we follow his sunna.’ Then you are Sunnis? Yes, indeed.

“And they will come to us here, us the Muslim Arabs in North Africa, and ask: ‘Do you love ‘Ali?’ We will say: ‘Yes, we love ‘Ali.’ [They will ask:] ‘Do you love ‘Ali or Mu’awiya?’ We will say: ‘We love ‘Ali.’ Then you are Shi’ites.

“The Iranians are Sunnis, and we in North Africa are Shi’ites”

“The Shi’a Has Moved Now From Iran to North Africa, the Second Fatimid State Must Arise”

“The Arab rulers are now campaigning to satisfy the Americans and the occupation with a call to hate Iran, because Iran is producing an atomic bomb, and because Iran is such-and-such and the Persians are such-and-such – [all] this is in order to divide Islam in two. When you ask them: ‘Why do you hate Iran?’ they say: ‘Because it is Shi’ite.’

“If rule is [in the hands of] the Prophet’s family, then no one has more right than the Fatimid state, which descends from Fatima al-Zahra. And if rule is a matter of worthiness, understanding, and democracy, then hand rule over to the peopleů and put an end to governments, kings, and presidents.

“If you bring Islam into politics, then the Prophet’s family has more right than all of you, oh you who take advantage of Islam. Who are you to rule in the name of Islam? If you want to rule in the name of Islam, then the Prophet’s family is most worthy and has more right.

“The Fatimid state grants freedom to everyone to worship in complete freedom. One is a Shafi’i, another a Maliki, another an Ismai’ili [Shi’ite], and another [follows the] Khawarij [KHARIJITES].

“In truth, all of the schools [of Islam] are forbidden innovations. It is clear what is permitted and what is forbidden, and Allah said: ‘Do not form groups and parties’. So why should we dispute? Over what?…

“How can we find one mosque that people say is Shi’ite, and another mosque that is Sunni ? ! Who holds this view ? In the days of the Prophet, was there a mosque for the Shi’ites and a mosque for the Sunnis?… They are all Allah’s mosques.

“Does one have a qibla to the right, and another to the left? Do they not all face the sacred house [i.e. the Ka’ba in Mecca]?

“The Two Holy Sites Are Mecca and Jerusalem”

“While we’re on the subject, the two holy sites are not the two that we say they are today. The two holy sites are Mecca and Jerusalem [and not Mecca and Medina].

“We thank our Persian brothers, who joined the party of the Prophet’s family and of ‘Ali. We thank them for joining [the supporters] of the Prophet’s family. This is a tremendous thing.

“I am amazed that people from the Prophet’s family, like [King ‘Abdullah] in Jordan for example, are against the Shi’a. What does the Shi’a mean? It means being the party of [tashayyu’ l-] the Prophet’s family. It means that we are the party of you, you there in Jordan. I am your party, when I am a Shi’ite in Iran.

“Look how they set us one against the other and enlisted some of us against others of usů” [4]

We Are Arabs, It Was Colonialism that Called Us Berbers

In an earlier speech on 01 March 2007, al-Qathafi denied the existence of a non-Arab Berber people in North Africa. He said that they were Amazigh, not ‘Berber’ !

“We set out from Yemen until we came here [to Libya]. We went by land, by land [barr barr], so they called us ‘Berbers’.

“We the Amazigh are the Arabs who came by land, by land [barr barr]. The Phoenicians, who are Arabs like us and came from the East, came on boats. They came to Phoenicia, and from Phoenicia started out from the coast [al-sahil al-sahil], whereas we came by land, by land [barr barr]. So we are the ‘by-land-by-land’ society, and colonialism came and said, ‘You are Berbers, a different people. You are not Arabs.’ They wanted to make us err concerning our history, our origin, and our civilization…

“The Amazigh [5] tribes died out a long time ago, since the days of the Kingdom of Numidia. These are tribes we don’t know at all. Perhaps they were Semitic or Eastern [tribes] who came [to the region], but they died out and are no more.

“Where are the tribes of Mishwash, Ribu, Libu, Samu, and Tihnu? We can’t even pronounce their names.

“The archaeologists and the astronomers say that these tribes died out during a 100-year drought. There was no rain in North Africa, and everyone died out, including the Amazigh tribes and the other tribes I mentioned who were all in North Africa – they all died out. The ‘Amazigh’ [barr barr] Arabs and the Phoenician [bahr bahr, i.e. “sea-sea”] Arabs arrived, and [then] the [other] Arabs came after Islam.

“Libya is for the Libyans. We will not tolerate in Libya any ethnic zealotry [shu’ubiyya]. No one can say ‘my origin is this, that, or the other’. Whoever says this is an agent of colonialism. This is ‘divide and rule’.

“The Israelis are seeking to Balkanize the Arab, Islamic, and African countries. European colonialism wants to divide North Africa and tear it to pieces.” [6]

Yemeni ballistic missile hits military base in Saudi territory

‘50 Thousand Yemeni prepare attacks on strategic locations in Saudi Arabia ‘

Video: Russian War Planes Destroy Twenty-two ISIS Oil Tankers en Route to Turkey

In-depth Report: SYRIA: NATO’S NEXT WAR?

 

 

The Russian warplanes destroyed two long convoys of ISIL’s oil tankers in the Homs province. The first convoy with at least 8 oil tankers and some other military vehicles was targeted by the Russian Air Force near the city of Palmyra. Militants accompanying the convoy were also killed in the air raid. The joint squadron of the Russian and Syrian frontline bombers also destroyed 14 oil tankers and their guards near Sukhnah.

According to the reports, the Russian and Syrian Air Forces have been focusing their efforts in the Homs province. The activity is aimed to support the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) military operations and to cut the oil smuggling routes in the area.

The Syrian Air Force carried out sorties against gatherings and movements of the Jaish al-Fateh terrorist alliance in the area of the Khan Sheikhoun town. Several vehicles equipped with machineguns have been reportedly destroyed. The Syrian forces also exercised a special operation in the western side of town. Six terrorists were killed including Khaled al-Bahri, the leader of a terrorist group affiliated to al-Nusra.

Separately, the Syrian Air Force destroyed dens and fortified sites of Jaish al-Fateh terrorists in Kafar Zeta, Mourek and al-Lattamneh towns in the Hama province.

The SAA is conducting military operations to liberate the Jobar district of Damascus from terrorists. According to the reports, about 16 Jaysh al-Islam militants have been killed since yesterday. Meanwhile, the SAA conducted separate offensives in the Marj al-Sultan and al-Nashabiyeh villages near the capital. 14 members of the Jaysh al-Islam terrorist group were killed during the clashes.

On Monday, at least a dozen civilians were reportedly killed in two air raids by US military aircraft in the beleaguered northern Iraqi city of Mosul. The incident came only 3 days after a US airstrike hit the Iraqi army’s 3rd Division 55th Brigade near Fallujah and killed at least 10 Iraqi soldiers.

al-Qathafi said FIFA has strengthened the global trend of racism. And the extreme right. The witness of this is that FIFA supports sport- clubs which are racist associations,  even extreme right-wing associations …

Where is the conscience of the world? al-Qathafi pointed out, that it was better to spend billions of dollars spent on hosting the ‘World Cup’ on poor people and the fight against poverty. He also suggested that the host country should be the country that wins the ‘World Cup’, following the tournament.

He said this is the solution. Otherwise, you must cancel FIFA gravity on the world financially and morally.

The Crisis Government’s Ministry of Health sent 40 wounded fighters belonging to “Operation Dignity” to Egypt to receive treatment at Alexandria Hospital.

The head of the Technical Committee to treat the wounded, Sami Aql, revealed that the wounded have been sent on a flight from al-Abraq Airport to complete treatment at the military hospital in Alexandria, Egypt.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry has contracted with the Alexandria military hospital, Sukra Clinic, Cartagena  Clinic and Hanbal Clinic in Tunis, to treat the wounded of the armed forces, who cannot be treated in Libya.

Fears are mounting that Islamic State terrorists could destroy an ancient Roman site in Libya which they have seized in their march towards the capital Tripoli.

ISIS fanatics travelling in 30 pick-up trucks stormed the coastal city of Sabratha on Wednesday night after three of their men were captured by a rival militia for Tunisia.

Black-clad militants overpowered residents and set up checkpoints in the city, which is just 50 miles from Tripoli, before DAASH’s success in retrieving the three men.

French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, on Friday, the importance of the fight against and defeat al Daash in Syria, Iraq, and perhaps soon in Libya, where the French airline last month exploratory sorties.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — France has signed deals worth 10 billion euros ( billion) with Saudi Arabia, said French Prime Minister Manuel Valls on Tuesday, underscoring the shared foreign policy stances that have helped deepen the two countries’ military and economic ties.

 

Valls, who announced the deals on his official Twitter account, is in Saudi Arabia with a large delegation of French business representatives and top officials, including Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.

 

France’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the deal includes the start of negotiations to provide Saudi Arabia with its own communication and observation satellites – something the kingdom has been coveting as it expands its regional military reach and fights a war against Shiite rebels in Yemen.

 

The two sides also signed deals in Riyadh for billion worth of Saudi public investment in French private funds with a focus on renewable energy and signed a letter of intent for cooperation in that sector. They also signed a cooperation agreement to establish a naval research center and to increase joint military training exercises.

 

The two countries agreed to hold another joint session in Paris next March.

 

The visit to Saudi Arabia is part of a regional tour that included stops in Jordan and Egypt, where a billion deal for two French Mistral amphibious assault ships was signed.

 

The French delegation, which arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday, held talks with King Salman, Crown Prince and Interior Minister Mohammed bin Nayef and Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman in the capital, Riyadh.

 

A French official, who spoke anonymously because he was not authorized to speak to the media, says a military helicopter deal is also expected to be signed in Riyadh. In June, Saudi Arabia signed agreements worth billions of dollars to buy 23 helicopters for the Interior Ministry, 50 Airbus jets and two possible nuclear reactors from France.

 

The alliance between France and Saudi Arabia has grown stronger in recent years as ties between Washington and Riyadh cooled under President Barack Obama, particularly following his administration’s strong backing of a nuclear deal between Iran and the world powers.

 

Though France was a part of the nuclear negotiations, its position has more strongly reflected Saudi concerns that the deal could bolster Iran’s influence in the region if economic sanctions are not lifted gradually. Iran and Saudi Arabia back opposite sides in the civil war in Syria.

 

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said in a press conference Tuesday with his French counterpart “there is no future” for President Bashar Assad in Syria, who is backed by Iran and Russia.

 

Valls, meanwhile, also met Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company – which owns or manages several iconic landmarks in France, including The Four Seasons Hotel George V and the Le Royal Monceau Hotel.

 

The French delegation additionally took part in a business forum. According to Saudi media, France is the third largest investor in Saudi Arabia and has more than 80 companies operating in the kingdom, employing around 11,000 Saudi nationals.

 

Saudi Arabia is seeking to diversify its economy away from oil and to create more jobs in the private sector for its growing young population. A slump in oil prices has gutted the kingdom’s most important source of revenue, forcing it to run a budget deficit and draw from its large foreign currency reserves.

 

John Sfakianakis, the Middle East director for British fund manager Ashmore Group, participated in the Saudi-French business forum and said it was more than just “empty words.”

 

“It’s actually based on contracts that will materialize,” he said. “The Saudi-French business ties are very deep and old, and quite extensive and cover many sectors ranking from defense, security, health care, retail, food sector. It’s very important for Saudi’s diversification efforts.”

 

The visit to Saudi Arabia comes after Paris expanded its airstrikes against the Islamic State group by targeting IS militants in Syria last month for the first time. France had previously targeted IS militants in Iraq, where the group also holds territory. France and Saudi Arabia are both part of the U.S.-led coalition bombing IS.

 

The strong alliance between France and Saudi Arabia was highlighted in May when French President Francois Hollande met with the heads of state of the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh for a meeting in his honor….

PARIS: Kuwait signed €2.5 billion ( billion) worth of military fixed and provisional deals led by the purchase of 24 Airbus-built Caracal helicopters, the French government said yesterday. Paris said Kuwait would purchase 24 helicopters for a billion euros with an option for a further six. The Caracal, which is deployed on combat rescue missions and long-distance troop transport, is fitted out with radar missile protection, while its weaponry includes air-to-ground and air-to-sea missiles. The agreements came a month after Kuwait agreed to buy 28 Typhoon combat warplanes from the Eurofighter consortium.

Kuwait is looking to upgrade its firepower amid increased security concerns in the region linked to the rise of the jihadist Islamic State group. Further deals included provision of French light armored vehicles and patrol boat maintenance. A source familiar with the negotiations indicated that the patrol boats would include the revamping of eight P37 craft that France sold to Kuwait after Iraq’s 1990 invasion that sparked the first Gulf War in 1991. After the conflict the two countries signed a defence agreement and today Kuwaiti’s military hierarchy is largely French-trained. The French defense ministry has yet to confirm whether Paris will ultimately also supply new vessels.

Yesterday’s accords were signed by a slew of ministers including French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and Finance Minister Emmanuel Macron in the presence of French Prime Minister Manuel Valls and Kuwaiti counterpart HH Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. Kuwait also indicated readiness to create a €450 million fund to invest in French small and medium-sized technology and health firms, a French government source said, in cooperation with BPIFrance, a public sector body dedicated to investment. France said it will meanwhile build a €100 million oncology centre in Kuwait.

Kuwait and France also signed a number of other agreements, memorandums of understanding and declarations of intent at the conclusion of bilateral talks. The two countries signed an agreement involving the French institute for archeology and social sciences. They signed declarations of intent on availing Radio France International the right to broadcast its programs on Kuwaiti airwaves, on cooperation between French and Kuwaiti financial institutes, and on cooperation between the Kuwait National Guard and its French counterpart. An F-16 of the Saudi Arabia Army crashed while attempting to land at an air base in the southwestern province of Lahij, Yemen.

Saudi Arabia continues its criminal war against neighboring Yemen with the so-called “world community” support. It has long been reports that also mercenaries from American firms participating in battles against houti guerrillas. New York Times writes:

The United Arab Emirates has secretly DISPATCHED Hundreds of Colombian Mercenaries to Yemen to fight in that Country’s raging conflict, adding a volatile new element in a complex proxy war that has drawn in the United States.

It is the first combat deployment of a foreign army, that the Emirates has quietly built in the desert over the past five years, according to several people currently or formerly involved with the project. The program was once managed by a private company connected to Erik Prince, the founder of Blackwater Worldwide; but the people involved in the effort said that their role ended several years ago, and that it has since been run by the Emirati military.

The arrival in Yemen of 450 Latin American troops – among them are also- Panamanian, Salvadoran and Chilean soldiers – adds to the chaotic stew of government armies, armed tribes, terrorist networks and Yemeni militias currently at war in the country.

But war does not go quite so head cut forwards in Riyadh as had been  imagined. Saudi Arabia and their hired forces have gone on a long string of losses during autumn 2015.

Warplanes in Libyan skies may signal next major battle in fight to contain Islamic State:

(The following is edited from Chris Stephen reporting from Tunis, Tunisia on Sunday 06 December 2015 00.02 GMT  in the ‘The Guardian’):

Libyans have become expert sky watchers. On many days, social media fills with pictures of the latest American drone or spy plane making low passes over Sirte, the local headquarters of Islamic State. There are grainy snaps of the squat, white Lockheed P-3 Orions, and hazier captures of dark drones, while discussion over a twin-engined aircraft that makes figure-of-eight passes could fill a chatroom. With the intensification of bombing of the terror group in Syria, Libya’s sky watchers think airstrikes are imminent.

Speculation about airstrikes heightened last week when the UN reported what intelligence agencies have been saying for months – that Libya has become Isis’s fallback position. More than 800 fighters sent from Libya to battle in Syria and Iraq have now made the journey the other way, as Isis expands its Libyan caliphate.

Last week France flew its first reconnaissance missions over Sirte, joining the drones and spy planes of the United States. This small town on Libya’s central coast was the birthplace of Muammar al-Qathafi.  al-Qathafi turned what was a sleepy coastal village into a majestic ‘African’ CAPITOL, hoping to fulfill a dream to make it the capital of a United States of Africa.

Now the town’s giant concrete Ouagadougou conference centre is bedecked with black flags. The grounds outside are bloody execution sites for the terrorists who have brought Raqqa-style horror to north Africa. Recent escapees tell of a litany of horrific acts, including crucifixions and townsfolk hanged from mechanical diggers and lampposts, some accused of being apostates, some of being spies.

Barbers are banned from shaving off beards and women are forced to wear dark robes, while zealots ensure that music is banned from radio stations. “People live for one thing, which is to get out,” said one resident, newly arrived in Tripoli, the capital far to the west.

Sirte’s airbase, the biggest in Libya, is being readied by Isis to take suicide planes, while 85 of the town’s children have been paraded as “suicide cubs”, ready to detonate themselves for the cause.

 Members of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group staged an unsuccessful guerrilla rebellion against The GREAT JAMAHIRIYA in the 1990s. That uprising was crushed, and its members fled to Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2011, fulfilling the American CIA and British MI6 devious interference (creating a mock ‘Arab Spring revolution’) the LFIG came home.

The first sign of this was Ansar al-Sharia, or Partizans of Islam, which followed up attacks on British and French diplomats.

Then came Isis, seizing its opportunity in the summer of last year when elections were followed by a TRIPOLI Brotherhood WAR, under the title of ‘Libya Dawn’, a coalition of Wahhabi-Misratan forces, seized Tripoli. The elected government fled to the eastern city of Tobruk and fighting has since raged across the country.

Always a hotspot for extremist terrorists, Isis quickly established a foothold in the eastern coastal town of Derna, held by ‘Ansar al-Sharia’ who converted to ‘DAASH’ terrorism, spearheaded by 300 militants of the al-Battar Brigade, battle hardened in Syria.

But Sirte was the true prize, offering an airport, seaport and something Isis wanted more than anything else: oil. South of the town is the massive Sirte Basin, the centre of Libya’s oil industry. In a few months its units conquered the town and pushed south into the Sirte Basin, taking a 100-mile stretch of coastline.

Many ‘Ansar al-Sharia’ units defected to DAASH / Isis, gifting it a base at Sabratha, 60 miles east of Tunisia’s border. Tunisia says Seifeddine Rezgui Yacoubi, the gunman who killed 38 tourists, 30 of them British, at Sousse, was trained at Sabratha, as were the gunmen who attacked tourists in the capital’s Bardo museum last March.

Daash/Isis in Libya has had reverses. In June, Derna youths, backed by a militia loyal to al-Qaida, rose up, pushing its units out of the town into the Green Mountain to the south. But a similar uprising in Sirte in August was brutally put down. After DAASH/Isis regained control of the rebel district, survivors said, gunmen set fire to the local hospital, burning 22 patients alive. Last week, DAASH/Isis launched its most audacious attack so far, striking at Ajdabiya, 70 miles east of Sirte, and threatening Libya’s four key oil ports. “Another assassination on Ajdabiya tonight, IS expansion,” one desperate Libyan tweeted last Friday night. “Wake up Libyans!”

Fears are building among Libya’s neighbours. Tunisia, reeling from the slaughter last month of 12 presidential guards by a Libyan-trained bomber, has closed its border with Libya and on Friday banned Libyan planes from the capital, fearing suicide attacks.

In fact, alarm bells about Isis expansion in Libya have been ringing all year. In the summer, the European Union high representative, Federica Mogherini, warned: “In Libya, there is the perfect mix ready to explode and in case it explodes, it will explode just at the gates of Europe.”

In October, Wolfgang Pusztai, Austria’s former Libya defence attaché, told the British parliament’s foreign affairs committee: “The more Islamic State is put under pressure in the Middle East, the more active it will be in Libya.” (anti-Libyan, Western propaganda aginst Libya, so as to recolonise Libya again.)

Loudest of all has been France’s defence minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, issuing periodic warnings that Libya has become the “hub” for Isis to supply terrorists and weapons to affiliated groups in Algeria and Mali and to Boko Haram in Nigeria.

Sources in Paris say Le Drian agreed to “go quiet” in the summer, as Europe put its faith in a UN mediation process, hoping that a newly united Libyan government could turn its guns on Isis. But those talks collapsed amid acrimony in October, the UN discredited and, even before the Paris attacks, talk in foreign capitals had turned to direct action.

Last week, the minister again sounded the alarm, telling a French magazine: “We see KHARIJITES (foreign Wahhabi terrorists) arriving in the region of Sirte who, if our operations in Syria and Iraq succeed in reducing the territorial reach of Isis, could tomorrow be more numerous.”

The US has already struck. In June, two F-15s bombed what it said was an al-Qaida gathering at Ajdabiya. In November, the jets struck again, hitting Derna, with the Pentagon FALSELY claiming to have killed a prominent DAASH/Isis leader.

But pinpoint strikes have failed to slow the group’s expansion, and the possible loss of Ajdabiya will be a disaster for Libya, cutting off oil ports and the gas fields that generate electricity, a move that the London-based oil expert John Hamilton says would mean “game over” for the economy.

Officials from the American military’s African Command, Africom, based in Stuttgart, have been visiting the region and, should the political decision be made, western forces are already deployed in strength around Libya’s borders.

Along with drones and spy planes, the US has bombers and Marine helicopter-borne units stationed in Spain and Italy. More US drones operate from two bases in Niger, guiding a 3,000-strong force of French paratroopers, Operation Barkhane, on the southern Libyan border against Wahhabi convoys passing out of the country.

RAF Tornados and Typhoons, newly arrived in Cyprus, are within strike range of Libya, as are jets on the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle. And a dozen European warships are off the Libyan coast, currently tasked with an ineffective mission to intercept the country’s people smugglers.

But the military option comes with risks. DAASH/Isis bases at Derna, Sirte and Sabratha would be obvious targets but, as in Syria, DAASH/Isis units in Libya can melt into the civilian population. Hours after the US Derna strike last month, Sirte residents reported DAASH/Isis gunmen forcing their way into civilian homes, calculating that US jets would not bomb them for fear of civilian casualties.

One crumb of comfort for western planners is that DAASH/Isis has yet to become a mass movement in Libya. In what is a tribal-based society, the population is largely immune to calls to join a worldwide caliphate. Set against that are the continuing arrival of (KHARIJITE) foreign volunteer-mercenaries from Tunisia, Sudan and Yemen.

As in Syria, only ground forces are likely to decisively crush DAASH/Isis. Western diplomats, working out of Tunis, with Tripoli too dangerous, are continuing to try to persuade Libyans to unite against the terrorist threat. But the French jets and the US drones in the skies over Sirte are vivid proof that another narrative is taking shape.

Faraj Obohashim: This suspicious meeting and its results do not represent the Council

Jantelaun did not disclose the Libyan parties that have agreed to attend the conference, but he said that both the foreign ministers of the United States and John Kerry, and Russia’s Sergei Lavrov, confirmed participation in its work.

He said the National Congress member Abdul Qadir Hoila The meeting, which was held in Tunisia has been based on the decision of the National Conference No. 124 for the year 2015.

Saudi Arabia must stop funding extremists worldwide, said Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, quoted by Press TV.

“We must make it clear to the Saudis that the time to look on the other hand have passed,” he said, referring to the support provided by Saudi Arabia to extremists around the world.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on Monday, the imposition of a visa on the next two Libyan citizens to the Kingdom.

She stressed the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a letter to the Libyan Embassy in Amman «restrict Libyan nationals; with respect to granting them entry visas to the Kingdom, and the application of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in force and instructions issued according to law».

It was also decided to exempt Libyan diplomats from visa requirements, as of 15 December 2015.
